Do you live in or around Highgate? Are you interested in the Arts? Art History? Travelling to fascinating places with friends? The Arts Society Highgate is one of the longest established societies in The Arts Society (formerly the National Association of Decorative and Fine Arts Society)

We were founded in 1975 and now have around one hundred and seventy five members. Arts Society Highgate members meet on the fourth Thursday of most months at 10.45 a.m. at the Highgate Literary and Scientific Institution in Pond Square, in the heart of Highgate Village. There's an extensive programme of fascinating lectures on Art and related subjects, by acknowledged experts who are also entertaining speakers. Our lectures are also available to our members live online via YouTube. We visit interesting places in London and enjoy coach excursions to country houses and gardens. In addition, we organise our own tours abroad and in the UK , our most recent trips being to  Nancy, Metz and Bordeaux with Artists and Gardens of Cornwall coming next September.

Members can become Volunteers, working with London galleries and museums, and we link up with local schools in the Community Arts programme. The Society is run by a committee drawn from and elected by our members, and each committee member has a job to do: arranging lectures, visits, travel, membership, and so on.
